Cost Effectiveness and Fees
Counseling is a process that is dependent upon the joint efforts of both the counselor and the client(s). The number of sessions necessary to experience relief varies depending upon the individual challenges of each client. For those with financial need, I offer a sliding scale of fees that may help.
Insurance
Most insurance companies will cover my services as an out of network provider if your insurance provider offers mental health coverage. Let me know if you would like me to contact your insurance company to determine what mental health coverage you have.
Should I Use Insurance?
The decision whether or not to utilize insurance coverage is a personal choice dependent upon many factors. Insurance makes counseling easier to afford, however the trade-off is that mental health services are only payable for clearly diagnosed conditions. The diagnosis that your clinician makes will become a permanent part of your medical record. The only way to be absolutely certain that this record will never be used unethically is to pay for services "out of pocket."
Fees and payment options
• Complimentary 30 minute consultation to help you decide if counseling and the services I provide will meet your needs.
• Intake (first session) is $125 for a 1 1/2 to 2-hour session.
• Individual counseling is $90 for a 90 minute session.
• Individual counseling is $125 for a 2-hour session.
• Group counseling is $50 per member for a 2-hour group session. (Minimum 4 members.)
• There is no charge for a phone inquiry to discuss scheduling or cancellations.
Payment is required for each session. I accept VISA, Master Card, cash and checks. Any fees incurred as a result of a returned check will be billed to the client.
Cancellations: Our lives are busy and filled with many demands. At some time you
may need to cancel a scheduled counseling appointment. In this event cancellations must
be made at least 24 hours before your appointment so that your scheduled time can be
used by others seeking services. My voice mail is available 24 hours a day in the event
that an appointment needs to be rescheduled. Clients are expected to give at least 24 hours notice, except in cases of emergency. After a "no-show," clients will be charged their hourly rate for additional appointments not kept and not canceled with sufficient notice, including the original no-show or late cancellation.

I utilize a sliding scale you can view HERE to determine the cost of my services for individuals who would like to engage in the counseling process, but cannot afford my full fee. Contact me with any questions that you may have regarding costs.
